Paula Deen's Lady & Sons Restaurant, Savannah, GA
This Tasty Tuesday takes us all the way to Savannah, GA to Paula Deen's restaurant....
I recently took my daughter to visit this famous restaurant as we were traveling up I-95. It's only about a 15 minute detour, each way. Your GPS will take you right to it, but parking is a little crazy. Call a few hours ahead of time and get your name on the waiting list. When you walk up, go to the desk and tell them your name's on the list and you should get right in..... and feel like VIP while doing so.
If you don't call ahead, you'll have a couple hours wait and possibly won't be able to get in that day at all.
The first time I visited.....
Paula didn't have the TV show and wasn't quite as famous. In fact, she was in the restaurant the day I was there and I was able to meet her. She signed my recipe book and one for a friend, talked with us a bit and smothered us in love, Paula-Deen-Style.
Now that Paula's achieved fame, my daughter had to settle for this Paula-Deen-love.
For Tasty Tuesday, go on over here and get you some Paula Deen Tailgating Recipes.
I've been to the Lady & Sons three times now and on each visit I've had the famous gooey butter cake for dessert and of course now have the body to show for it. I just found her son's recipe for a Lighter Gooey Butter Cake. I might try that.
