While we were in Jersey this past weekend, Reiner took us back to one of our favorite restaurants: Stuff Yer Face. Go out to the website just to hear their theme song. "'Dem boli's, boli's, crisp n hot, 'dem....." It'll get stuck in your head. -

Anyway, back in the 80's when we lived in Jersey, we visited this place quite often, meeting up with my cousin Julie or Tom Young or Reiner. Always had to take my parents there when they came up. So there I was, back at it, ten years later and I ordered my usual, 4 cheese boli. How cool. We got the pierogies for an appetizer, wow, I couldn't believe I was back in the land of pierogies!!! They were excellent, too.

We stayed overnight with Reiner Friday night & he drove us to Trenton Saturday morning, via a nice diner and a quick stop at Starbucks. Here's Tom & Reiner saying goodbye.

We flew up to Jersey for the weekend to see our nephew, Scott, before he heads off for Boot Camp, joining his brother Kevin serving our country. We're proud of them both and wanted to visit with them a little, show' em some love.

Kevin was unexpectedly allowed to come home overnight for a quick visit, it was so good to see him. Here's one of my best shots of Scott (in white) and Kevin, believe it or not. Don't know why we didn't think to take serious family photos while we were together, but... hind-sight & all...

Nancy made Scott's favorite pasta with her famous sauce, Yum-O, and we sat around talking all night long. Well, until Scott had to go out with his friends. We're cool & all, but not THAT cool to hang with all night long on a Saturday night before becoming property of the US Army.

Another huge surprise of the weekend was Marilyn & Paul's arrival from Michigan. It was so great to see them again. Here's Paul supervising Nancy's sauce. I think he's stealing the secret recipe.

Jess, Ma and Kevin around the table. Apparently, Kevin really, really missed Aunt Nancy's cooking.

Here's Jaime and Nancy. It is so much fun to see these kids grow up and into their own lives. I wish my kids had gone up with us, they would've had fun catching up with their cousins.

Here's Tom & Glenn out in the Man Cave. The guys spent a TON of time out there. To the left of the picture is Glenn's prototype of the bleachers he is making for the school dugouts.

The highlight of the evening was my first foray into the world of Rock Band. That was pretty fun. The guys look like they're concentrating pretty hard here. Nance was really, really getting into it. Wish I could put up all the pictures, I believe I have some blackmail photos.

And here I am playing bass. I was just starting to get into it and we took a break for cake. Nancy had made the famous Sliker cake and we'd all been anxious to bite into it. It was decorated with little GI Joe men in various positions that Kev explained to us all.

Scott's off to Oklahoma, I think, for a few months, then Fort Benning, not too far from us. So glad we got to see them all!

Awww, Stuff Yer Face, I remember that place, you took me there once when visiting!!! I think of it often and wish I could find it again!!!
Oh man what I wouldn't give to go back to "Stuff Yer Face", I can just taste that "boli" right now!! Looks like a fun weekend with Tom's family.
It does look like you had a very good time with Tom's family. Did you find time to visit with your family in Charlotte since that is probably where you flew out of? It is good to see that you are a FAMILY person. I live near (whithin 100 miles) of a lot of my family and hardly ever see them unless someone dies. Never would have taken you for a Rock music person. Other than that you seem to be a good doobie.
