Thanksgiving

-
Another Thanksgiving has come & gone. There are so many dreaded stories about family get-togethers where everyone hates being there & fights & stuff, but I have to say ours aren't usually like that. (unless it's all behind my back ??)
-
Confession: I have never made a turkey & dressing dinner. Tom always cooks ours or we sponge off family. So this year, he was back in the kitchen, hard at work early in the morning so we could eat by 2. His turkey was wonderful, but he did something funky to the dressing this year, added peppers, YuckO, only the inlaws liked it. They band together like that.

The "children" still sat at the "children's table." I need to dig out an old photo from when they were toddlers. I think they are still sitting in the same seats - kind of like Baptists.

The adults sat at the adult table. We changed our usual seats around a bit, except mom & dad.

Nana paid us a visit, supervised our Quiddler.

Nana's had a couple of falls lately and has hurt her back.

Tommy & Eva enjoyed the Christmas village for a long, long time. It was a sweet thing to observe.

We celebrated Christmas while we were up there since we won't get back up there. Doesn't everyone look happy?

Lisa & I sneaked off to a corner to eat mom's strawberry pie - our favorite. Mom is the last person on the planet who still makes her own homemade pie crust. She is always the designated pie baker.

At days end, Eva set an example by working off some calories on the treadmill. You know what I found interesting -- there wasn't any dust on the treadmill. Go figure.

Cousin David! How is it that you weren't in these family photos? What an oversight. Good thing you piped up in the comments.

At the big people's table, why does Tom have that big fat soda at his place setting? Did he not eat his own food, and just drank his lunch? You all should be very, very suspicious...

My family also has a children's table, and they sat together this year and laughed and laughed. We were very happy about that until I asked Sara what they had been talking about.... =(

My sister makes her own pie crust, so she's the designated Pecan Pie maker in the family. YUM-O! :)

Is that a bottle of ketchup on the children's table? Ya gotta be kidding!

Was it for the turkey, the dressing, the squash? Certainly not the pie.

That would be Bazil with the ketchup. You know how Brians gotta have ketchup with everything. I could barely watch it.

How would you like to be the cook, why bother when they ruin everything with ketchup it's a wonder he didn't put it on my pie!
