several loooong miles, and I thought as long as I'm following this goober, I should drive up on the back and save some gas money. Wouldn't that be swell? Then the whole thing reminded me of a song by Caedmon's Call "Climb on."
"Oh, my soul, sometimes we don't know what to do
We work so hard being tough on our own
But now it's me and you
Let's give it up, sad bones
'Cause we are following hard times
But you don't have to stand up all alone
Just put your hand in mine
Climb on a back that's strong
Yeah, you can get what you want
Climb on a back that's strong."
When we're tired or weary or maybe just plain weak, isn't it great to know we can piggyback off our fellow Christians? We're here to support and encourage each other. You are not alone. We all have times when we are weak and tired and need a little help. Which leads me to scripture, Exodus 17:11,12:
"As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. When Moses' hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset."
And I Thess. 5:11: "Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing."
Have a great weekend!
